“If you’ve made it to the Gallantry mailing list, you’ve made it in life. Keep up the great work, Gallantry Man Legend!”

We all know the memes.
“Chuck Norris kicked the world once…it hasn’t stopped spinning.”
“There is no theory of evolution…just a list of creatures that Chuck Norris has allowed to live.”
“Chuck Norris doesn’t turn on the shower…he stares at it until it starts to cry.”
The list goes on.
Thing is, Chuck Norris isn’t just the focal point of a hilarious meme.
Chuck Norris is AMERICA.
Gallantry Man Legend Chuck Norris, just kicking some dude’s ass in Missing in Action.
You see, Chuck Norris (born Carlos Ray Norris) is an American man, myth, and legend all rolled into one. No one disputes this. The reason no one disputes this is because Chuck Norris is an American martial arts expert (the first American in history to get an 8th-degree black belt in taekwondo, mind you) who, after serving in the U.S. Air Force, went on to found his own martial arts school (named after the martial arts system he developed, because he’s Chuck Norris), Chun Kuk Do.
After years of taking names and kicking ass in a bunch of martial arts tournaments, and even popping up as a baddie in his buddy Bruce Lee’s flick Way of the Dragon (as a favor), Hollywood finally came knocking. With the passing of Lee, Chuck Norris quickly became the go-to martial arts guy around town for actors to train with. Soon enough, however, the suits got smart and realized that Chuck was destined to be more than a trainer. This man was born to become an American Action movie star. Before long, it seemed like everyone from here to Timbuktu wanted a piece of The Chuckster. Who could blame them? Beginning in the late 1970’s, it was officially on.
While the 1980’s and 1980’s saw Chuck Norris pumping out countless classics during the apex of American Action, including the iconic Walker, Texas Ranger television series, the 2000’s saw Chuck delivering a timeless “thumbs up” cameo in Dodgeball: An Underdog Story, which in turn ignited a meme revolution unlike any the world had ever seen. Let’s just say Chuck Norris has done a pretty great at cementing his legend status. When you see him onscreen, you just know that an unapologetic badass has officially entered the building and that law and order are about to get restored. Big time.
“Listen, babe. I know you want me, Gallantry Man Legend Chuck Norris. It’s only natural. I am me, after all. Here’s the thing, though. I just ordered a bunch of hot everyday carry blades from Gallantry, and I want to grab ‘em. Let’s raincheck this ish.”
To say that the cultural icon that is Chuck Norris had a larger than life impact on the culture is the understatement of the millennia. In fact, there are so many awesome Chuck Norris movies, that to list them all here would take the rest of your day. So, to that end, we’re going to focus on just a few, namely those comprising the Missing in Action trilogy (Missing in Action, followed by its two prequels, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning and Braddock: Missing in Action III), as not only does EDC Chuck rock a KA-BAR in Braddock: Missing in Action III, but the entire trilogy represents some of the best that Chuck Norris movies have to offer.
“GOOD-NIGHT!”
Were all the EDC fixed blade/survival knives that we’re highlighting here featured in the Missing in Action flicks? Here’s a better question – does it matter? Chuck Norris would’ve wanted them to be (you know, had Gallantry been around back then), so now they just are. When superstar Chuck Norris wants something, Chuck Norris gets it.
“Excuse me! Coming through! Chuck Norris wants to check out these EDC fixed-blade/survival knives being featured in the new Dispatch and he does not have time to dilly-dally. Move it people!”
Let’s get this frickin’ show on the road, because Chuck Norris is one patriot that doesn’t like to wait. With the Braddock-themed blades we’re featuring, you and Chuck will never be Missing in Action again. You can take that to the bank.
“Nice knife, bro. Have you seen my EDC collection from Gallantry?”
MISSING IN ACTION (1984)
Directed by Joseph Zito, Missing in Action is very much an Action flick in the spirit of Rambo: First Blood Part II (the movie’s script was supposedly based on the same James Cameron treatment that was used for Rambo: First Blood Part II). In it, Chuck plays Special Forces Colonel James Braddock, a badass who returns to the Vietnamese POW camp that he himself escaped a decade earlier (after having spent seven years captive there) in order to bring the remaining MIAs home. While definitely-not-Gallantry-Men critics knocked the movie upon its initial release, audiences all over the place loved it, and it remains one of Chuck Norris’s most popular flicks, an absolute cult classic.
“Have you seen this week’s Dispatch from Gallantry, Chuck? Those featured everyday carry fixed blade Ka-Bar survival knives are straight-up off the chain!”
A movie only needs Chuck Norris involved to be awesome. Sure. However, the presence of M. Emmet Walsh as Jack “Tuck” Tucker, Braddock’s old Army buddy turned black market kingpin, doesn’t hurt the flick. Let’s just say that watching these two bruhs venture deep into the Vietnam jungle in order to free American POW’s from General Tran is definitely rad.

MISSING IN ACTION 2: THE BEGINNING (1985)
Filmed back-to-back with Missing in Action, the first Missing in Action prequel, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning, directed by Lance Hool, follows Colonel James Braddock’s years as a POW after he is captured during the Vietnam war, detained in a brutal North Vietnamese POW prison camp (where he, of course, immediately begins to plan his escape), and forced to grow opium for the psychopathic dude that runs the joint, Colonel Yin (Soon-Teck Oh), and his French drug runner buddy François (Pierre Issot). Needless to say, after Braddock experiences a number of cruel methods of torture at the behest of his captors, he eventually gets even…and then some.
Watch the trailer HERE because an American hero’s story continues.

“GET SOME! No, I’m not talking about my EDC from Gallantry! SOMETHING ELSE!”
BRADDOCK: MISSING IN ACTION III (1988)
While the first two Missing in Action movies feel very much like the same project, Braddock: Missing in Action III, directed by Aaron Norris, has its own unique energy.
This flick follows Colonel James Braddock as he treks back to Communist Vietnam after learning that his wife Lin Tan Cang (Miki Kim) and the twelve-year old son they share (who Braddock didn’t even know he had) are still alive. Needless to say, Braddock helps them as well as a whole lot of other prisoners regain their freedom while delivering his Vietnamese enemies permanent naps.

In additional to the usual Ka-Bar Fighting Knife accouterments (comfortable-to-wield traditional leather oval-shaped handle, matching leather sheath), this extremely special edition commemorates the real Braddocks of the country, American veterans of the Vietnam War, as well as their countless sacrifices, with a unique gold-painted emblem on its blade.
