Benchmade's story dates back an impressive 30 years, actually beginning as a small two-man operation specializing in building bali-songs, better known as butterfly knives. After the first company folded due to a lack of control over quality, price, and delivery; founder Les de Asis created a new brand. Named as a reflection of the brand's dedication to the handmade precision quality of each and every individual blade that passes through their shop, Benchmade was born. To this day, the brand remains true to that vision, making each and every knife to rigidly high standards in their Oregon City factory.
