Father’s Day was started by Sonora Smart Dodd to celebrate her dad, Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, who was a single parent raising more than a handful of kids. Today we continue the tradition by honoring the men who taught us how to make tough sacrifices, protect what we love at all costs, and plant ourselves in our beliefs.
